Artichoke Party #8
Theme: Bouquet & Garters
Location: Spectacular Sky Palace
Year: 2003
Art: Paul McGhee
Invite backstory:
This invitation captures our marriage earlier in the year and is the first of the ‘family series.’ Our artichoke bride is walking up the aisle holding a bouquet of flowers and wearing a garter.
We added in the flowers and garter by hand after printing so each invitation had a touch of color and was unique. The flowers represented the first extension to the basic artichoke lady and did stretch the limits of my drawing technique!
We hosted at the Spectacular ‘Debachelorized’ Sky Palace and invited guests to ‘live their Artichoke Dreams in the privacy of our own home’.
The call to action on the front of the invite was ‘drop everything - except your pants! It’s “Artichoke Party Time!!
Party Highlights
The party formula has been tuned and is really working well. Stephen and his team upped the ante and delivered Artichokes 9 ways, reprising the artichoke crabcakes and creating a new recipe for artichoke and beef empanadas.
The little kids are now all looking forward to the Pirate party and the low end meats (Artichoke and chicken sausages).
In addition to the Artichokes, the big kids are now all looking forward to the Human foosball, the regular foosball, the croquet and the low end liquids (keg beer).
Another beautiful September Sunday filled with laughter, joy and fun.
